🛬 Arrival in Cairo – Night Visit to Al-Hussein Mosque (Spiritual Welcome)

Morning: visit the Saladin Citadel and the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque – stunning Ottoman architecture. Then explore the Sultan Hassan Mosque-Madrasa, widely regarded as the most spectacular monument of Mamluk architecture (14th century). Its massive portal, soaring iwans, and serene courtyard reflect the grandeur of Islamic Cairo. Nearby, visit the Al-Rifa'i Mosque, resting place of the last king of Egypt and the Shah of Iran. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon: optional visit to the Qalawun Complex (hospital, madrasa, mausoleum). Return to hotel. Overnight.

Evening: attend a mesmerizing Tanoura Sufi dance performance at Wekalet El Ghouri, a restored Mamluk caravanserai. The whirling dervishes spin in colourful skirts, symbolizing the soul’s journey toward divine love. The show includes live Sufi music and chanting. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Then head to the Ibn Tulun Mosque (built 876–879 AD), the oldest surviving mosque in Cairo in its original form.
