Free time to relax. Evening stroll (optional) to try local koshary street food or see the Nile from a budget café. Overnight in Cairo.

Breakfast at hotel. Meet your Egyptologist guide. Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren, Mycerinus) – get that classic photo at the Panorama point. See the mighty Sphinx and Valley Temple. Then drive to Saqqara to explore the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's oldest monumental stone structure. Learn about early pyramid evolution. Lunch at a local restaurant (included). Return to hotel. Overnight Cairo.

Early departure (approx 7:00) for a scenic 3-hour drive to Alexandria, the “Pearl of the Mediterranean.” Visit the Citadel of Qaitbay (built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria), then explore the stunning Bibliotheca Alexandrina – the reborn ancient library with modern architecture. After lunch (included), descend into the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the largest Roman burial site in Egypt (three levels carved in rock). Also see Pompey's Pillar (optional). Drive back to Cairo arriving evening. Overnight.

After breakfast, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) – home to the Royal Mummies Hall (including Ramses II and Hatshepsut). Witness the evolution of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric to modern times. Then head to the Cairo Citadel (Saladin's medieval fortress) and the stunning Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Enjoy panoramic views over Cairo. Afternoon free (optional: Khan El-Khalili early visit). Overnight Cairo.

Enjoy a relaxed morning. Then immerse yourself in Islamic Cairo: walk along El-Moez Street (one of the world's greatest open-air museums of Islamic architecture) – free to explore, with historic gates, mosques and shops. Continue to the legendary Khan El-Khalili Bazaar – bargain for silver cartouches, perfumes, lanterns, spices, and papyrus. Your guide will share negotiation tips and the best shops. Optional: break for mint tea at the 18th-century El Fishawy café. Afternoon free for last-minute shopping or a Nile felucca ride (add-on). Return to hotel.
