The Oasis Circuit
Desert 4x4 Expedition

Early departure from your Cairo hotel in a private 4x4. Drive to Bahariya Oasis (approx 4 hours). Start the desert adventure: visit the Black Desert – volcanic hills covered with dark iron quartzite. Climb English Mountain for panoramic views of the blackened landscape. Continue to the Valley of the Golden Mummies and the tomb of Bannentiu. Check into a local eco‑lodge or basic hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bahariya.

After breakfast, drive to Crystal Mountain – a quartzite ridge sparkling in the sun. Hike around to collect small crystal fragments (with permission). Then descend into Agabat Valley, a narrow canyon with dramatic rock formations. Continue to the White Desert (Sahara el Beyda), a protected area famous for surreal, wind‑sculpted chalk shapes resembling mushrooms, chickens, and icebergs. Set up camp before sunset. Enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner cooked under the stars. Stay overnight in cozy tents or under open skies. Overnight White Desert camp.

Wake up in the White Desert, then pack and drive to Farafra Oasis. Visit the Badr Museum (local art from recycled materials) and the hot springs. Continue to Dakhla Oasis. Afternoon: explore Al-Qasr Islamic Village – a perfectly preserved medieval settlement with mud‑brick architecture, narrow alleys, and a 12th‑century mosque. Walk through the old market and see ancient oil presses. Check into a local hotel or eco‑lodge in Dakhla. Overnight.

Morning drive to Kharga Oasis, the largest and most developed of the Western Desert oases. Visit the Temple of Hibis (Persian‑era, dedicated to Amun), the Christian Necropolis of Al-Bagawat (early Christian domed tombs with frescoes), and the Qasr el‑Ghoueita temple. After lunch, begin the long drive back to Cairo (approx 5‑6 hours). Arrive in the evening. Check into your Cairo hotel. Overnight.

After the long desert circuit, enjoy a free morning to relax, swim, or do last‑minute shopping. Check‑out time 12:00 PM. Private transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight. End of the Oasis Circuit – you've crossed the Western Desert end to end.
